I've been in software development for 30 years — code, architecture, technology, organization, from every angle. Fifteen years later, back at the command line, I experience daily what's really possible with experience, current technology, and well-used AI agents — and what isn't. The first prompt made it clear: the pace of AI-powered software engineering is so high that even agile becomes too rigid — too much process for too little time. I talk honestly about real work, including its limits and its costs — and why the bottleneck isn't capacity but skill, and why the answer is to scale down, not up.
