2. Scope
We're based in Switzerland and primarily subject to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG). Since this site also addresses visitors in the EU, we additionally apply GDPR requirements.
3. Your rights at a glance
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time, ask us to restrict processing, request data portability, and object to processing. You can also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (see section 8).
4. What we collect
4.1 Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted exclusively in Switzerland (Northflank, Zurich data center). The EU Commission recognizes Switzerland as offering an adequate level of data protection, so hosting here doesn't trigger a separate third-country-transfer clause. Visiting the site automatically generates technical access data (IP address, timestamp, requested page), standard practice for operating any website. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31(1) nDSG (legitimate interest in secure, stable operation).
4.2 Cookies and local storage
For anonymous visitors, this site sets no cookies. Your browser stores your language and display (light/dark) preference locally (localStorage) so the site remembers it on your next visit. This data never leaves your device.
If you're already logged into the beacon platform (e.g. via /portal), this site keeps that login active while you browse: your browser automatically sends the existing, technically necessary authentication cookies (httpOnly, unreadable by scripts) along with each page visit. These cookies exist purely to keep your session alive, not for analytics, advertising, or profiling, and only ever arise if you actively log in, never from an anonymous visit. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31 nDSG (legitimate interest in a working login).
4.3 Getting in touch / early-access requests
When you contact us or join the beacon platform early-access waitlist, we collect:
- Step 1 (required): your email address, chosen language, and which form/interest you used (general inquiry, platform demo, or early-access waitlist).
- Step 2 (optional, skippable): name, role, company, team size, and a free-text message (only if you choose to share them).
Purpose: handling your inquiry or managing the early-access waitlist.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual step at your request) or (a) (consent via active submission) / Art. 31 nDSG.
Recipients: only our own backend infrastructure (beacon platform), never sold or shared with third parties.
Retention: 24 months without renewed contact, then automatic deletion. You can also request earlier deletion at any time.
Objection/deletion: anytime, via hello@beacon.build.
A hidden honeypot field exists purely for spam/bot detection; anything a human enters there is never processed or stored.
4.4 Direct email contact
If you email hello@beacon.build, we process what you send (your address, message content) to handle your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR.
5. No analytics or marketing tools
This site uses no third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, or social media services. No profiling takes place.
6. Data security
All data transmission is encrypted (TLS/HTTPS).
7. Changes to this policy
We'll update this notice whenever data processing on this site changes. The version published here is always the current one. Last updated: 28.08.2026
